Influenced by Cubism, this more abstract piece captures a bit of my frustration when trying to play a guitar for the first time as a young adult. I played a saxophone in junior high and part of high school but I never really found a passion for playing music. I always had a craving to play the violin but never came across the chance. As many young adults do, I tried dedicating a little time to playing a friend's guitar. Backing up a bit, I have some amount of hypermobility in my hands (aka double jointed). I am always conscious of how this hypermobility appears when I post videos, because it does appear a little bizarre and often wonder if those who also have it recognize it? Beyond the odd flexibility, my finger joints have a tendency to snap to full open or fully closed. This made holding guitar strings against the frets frustrating, inaccurate and uncomfortable. It didn't take long for me to move on from the guitar with little remorse, but I am left little bummed that trying a violin someday might expose those same frustrations.

• There are a few bubbles in the piece — one part (bottom center) had a reaction with the resin and 'fizzed' bubbles on the surface. This can be seen in the photos.
• The limited edition metal brackets were designed by me and then laser cut from steel and stainless by a third party vendor.
• Note that there is a seam on the sides of the piece, it is not crystal clear around the edges, it's a bit wavy.
• The cast will need to be inserted into the frame when received, I'll provide instructions.
• The cast is susceptible to fingerprints and may have slight surface imperfections. The cast piece can be cleaned with a tiny amount of rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth.
• Comes with certificate of authenticity.
